He is responsible for reviewing all new development opportunities presented to the firm, is involved with all development consulting assignments, and coordinates all active industrial, medical office and retail development projects undertaken by HSA.
Christensen has been with HSA for 18 years and has experience in land sales and land acquisition; commercial, retail and industrial development; design and construction project management; budgeting and performing financial analysis; financing; lease and sale of contract negotiation; and, the municipal title process.
Some of Christensen’s projects include Ashland Marketplace, a 556,000-square-foot, high-cube industrial facility located in Chicago, Ill.; the 700,000-square-foot retail redevelopment of Orland Park Place in Orland Park, Ill.; and, Estrella Business Park, a 250,000-square-foot building in Phoenix, Ariz. Current HSA development projects under Christensen’s supervision total more than 1.5 million square feet.
Prior to joining HSA, Christensen spent eight years with OPUS Corporation, directing real estate developments, and new construction and infrastructure development.
Christensen is a licensed professional engineer and real estate broker in the State of Illinois. He is also a member of the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers (AIRE) and The National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP).
